3D modeling and Rigging

3D modeling and Rigging (Making an Animated Movie)

3D Modeling

Modeling in 3D is the process of building and shaping a character or an object in a 3D software, to match the design.

As a part of the Making an Animated Movie series, I’m going to share with you the two models (which are already rigged) that make for the two main characters. The ball and the cube.

In this video I go over the two rigs and show what they can do.

Rigging

Rigging is the process of taking the 3D model and building a skeleton into it so it could move the way we want it to. In the ‘making of’ of my first animated film I showed what rigs are, and in this video tutorial I will go over how I rigged the main character (the cube) so it would have squash and stretch capabilities.
