All project files available for downloadMade for aspiring 3D artists and animators
We’ve designed this ZBrush course for beginners who want to learn digital sculpting while understanding how professional artists think about assets that may eventually need to move, rig, and animate.
You’ll start by learning the essential ZBrush workflow before gathering references and exploring the anatomy, proportions, silhouettes, materials, and mechanical ideas behind your prosthetic arm. From there, you’ll gradually build the asset from simple forms, separate it into functional components, and sculpt convincing wood, bone, and metal surfaces.
But this course isn’t only about making something that looks good. You’ll also learn to think about articulation, separate moving parts, readability, mesh organization, and how design decisions can affect animation later in production.
By the end, you’ll have a finished portfolio-quality sculpt and a much stronger foundation in both ZBrush and production-focused prop design.

Blocking & Shape Design
You’ll learn how to build strong primary forms, establish proportions, develop silhouettes, and use shape language to create designs that feel clear, balanced, and functional before adding detail.
Sculpting & Refinement
We’ll move into more advanced sculpting techniques, including masking, extracting geometry, creating separate parts, adding secondary forms, and refining surfaces with tools like Dam Standard, HPolish, Trim Dynamic, and Pinch.
Production-Ready Assets
Finally, you’ll learn how to clean up and organize your sculpt using ZRemesher, PolyGroups, Decimation Master, and mesh organization techniques, preparing the finished asset for export and use in a production pipeline.
Learn ZBrush through a real project
Go beyond isolated tutorials and learn ZBrush through a complete, practical sculpting workflow. Each tool and technique is introduced in context, so you understand not just how it works, but when and why to use it.
You’ll build confidence with essential tools including Move, Clay Buildup, Smooth, Dam Standard, Dynamesh, masking, Extract, Gizmo 3D, ZRemesher, PolyGroups, Decimation Master, and more, that takes your work from initial forms through refinement, cleanup, and final production preparation.
